NeuStar (NYSE: NSR) announced today that it has successfully completed the benchmark testing of the most recent release of its presence platform (PSP 5.0). Network operators investing in presence-enabled services now will be able to scale seamlessly with NeuStar’s PSP to provide increased services to network operators without any impact on performance.
NeuStar’s PSP 5.0 release, which is compliant with the latest approved OMA standards, was benchmarked with the eco-efficient, high performance Sun SPARC Enterprise® T1000 and T2000 servers and the powerful, massively scalable Sun Fire UltraSPARC IV+ V890 servers, which are running the Solaris 10 Operating System (OS). NeuStar conducted the tests to check the latency, capacity, scalability and throughput of the PSP, and results show that Sun servers are an ideal platform on which to run NeuStar's PSP 5.0 release.
“Our latest PSP is proven to be able to handle a high volume of transactions without failure, making it highly available, scalable and well-equipped for high-volume installations,” said Allen Scott, General Manager of NeuStar Next Generation Messaging. “This clearly demonstrates that NeuStar’s PSP provides a valuable answer to the current and future demands of operators.”
The successful completion of this testing by NeuStar is further evidence of the company’s commitment to providing high-performance, highly scalable instant messaging and presence services to mobile network operators at exceptional value. NeuStar solutions are already integrated within numerous operator networks worldwide, including Vodafone, 3, Turkcell and Nortel. Key results of the tests included:
- Successful completion of dozens of thousands of transactions load per second
- Latency of low tens of milliseconds
- Linear horizontal and vertical scaling
NeuStar’s PSP and IMSC are the leading presence and IM messaging platforms currently deployed by the largest share of Tier One operators. Benchmarking tests prove that NeuStar’s PSP can continue to grow as service usage increases. In order to be able to provide operators with high performance and availability for their current and future demands, NeuStar tests various sized systems to enable high traffic load and the ability to scale both horizontally and vertically. Official test results are provided to NeuStar’s operator customers.
