Followap, the leader in instant messaging, presence and interconnect solutions to the telecoms industry today announced it has successfully completed the OMA’s Test Fest for Presence and XDMS (group list management server), part of the iFollow PSP 5.0 release. The Test Fest hosted in Dusseldorf in Germany resulted in approved specification standards testing interoperability between Followap’s Presence server and XDMS with leading clients and IMS manufacturers.
”Followap’s commitment to developing and proving the quality and interoperability of the OMA Presence and XDM Enablers provides a real benefit to the market and to adoption by operators and mobile users”, said Fred Harrison, Vice Chair OMA and Chairman of its Board Interoperability Committee. “The tests are also evidence of the importance the market regards presence as the key enabler for next generation presence enabled services such as operator-brand mobile IM, smart-routed calls and dynamic address book,” Harrison concluded.
The tests, which took place over seven days in two phases, continue to improve OMA interoperability standards. With these results, the telecoms industry will be able to quickly identify companies which follow the approved standards specifications, such as Followap, and be able to integrate presence and group management technology into their systems quickly without costly engineering efforts.
Mark Shteiman, PSP Director at Followap said; “Followap is committed to provide customers with proven, robust, highly scalable presence solutions. Ease of integration into other applications and services is vital for smooth interoperability. The industry has recognised that presence is the catalyst for next generation services which is set to make a huge difference to the end user’s communication experience.”
