Followap, the world leader in presence and instant messaging solutions for service providers, today announced the appointment of Simon Brown as new vice president of global sales and customer operations. Based in the UK, Simon Brown will support the development of Followap’s global market strategy and lead its sales and customer operations teams. Brown will be reporting to Dotan Volach Followap’s CEO.
Brown has twenty years experience in sales and operations management in the telecommunications industry, of which half was in mobile telecommunications. Before Followap, he held various senior management positions at Nokia, including Vice President Sales and Marketing, EMEA where he managed sales and marketing activities. Prior to this role, Brown was Vice President Middle East and Africa of Nokia Networks where he launched Nokia Networks, as well as several other positions working in Western Europe, EMEA and APAC.
“It’s a very exciting time for Followap, following recent industry announcements from several operators who publicly expressed their support for mobile IM services. It’s now at the top of the industry’s agenda.” said Brown.
