CounterPath’s eyeBeam 1.5 Softphone Achieves NeuStar Interoperability Certification

LONDON, United Kingdom, March 12, 2007

NeuStar, Inc. (NYSE: NSR) announced today that CounterPath’s eyeBeam 1.5 softphone, a leading multimedia PC client, has successfully completed interoperability testing with NeuStar’s Presence Platform (PSP). Operators investing in converged presence-enabled services now will be able to select CounterPath’s multimedia PC client to work seamlessly with NeuStar’s PSP, which is already integrated within operator networks worldwide.

Compliant to OMA (Open Mobile Alliance) industry standards, the NeuStar Developer Interoperability Program (DIP) for mobile instant messaging (IM) provides end-to-end interoperability testing for SIP multimedia capabilities over converged IMS networks. Mobile IM’s presence and group list management functions, which work within the core of converged IMS networks, enable fixed and mobile users to communicate with each other at anytime from anywhere.

“CounterPath’s eyeBeam 1.5 softphone is a white-labeled SIP multimedia PC client that provides a wealth of powerful communications features to support traditional and next generation services, and it has already been selected by BT. Working with the NeuStar PSP, operators are able to provide personalised presence-enabled communications to the PC user, including smart-call routing based on presence information and VoIP-to-video calling. We look forward to working with NeuStar and helping them provide end-to-end, market-leading next generation services,” said Donovan Jones, President and COO of CounterPath.

“Mobile and fixed line users demand personalised communications and the ability to keep connected regardless of operator networks or devices. NeuStar provides integrated next generation services, and working with CounterPath further strengthens our market offering for truly converged multimedia communications,” said Simon Brown, General Manager of NeuStar’s Next Generation Messaging Services.
