Neustar Instant Messaging Clients

Overview

NeuStar Clients are field-proven applications that have been developed to meet the needs of operators and handset manufacturers. NeuStar was the first third party IM application to be integrated into a manufacturer’s handset.

Key elements of our Clients are: ease of use, branding, porting and configuration for fast integration and supporting industry standards. NeuStar's Clients make mobile IM easy as a result of continuous feedback from live customer deployments over a number of years.

Examples of Innovative features in the NeuStar solution include:
> SMS integration (IM to non IM user is converted to SMS and the reply is converted to IM)
> NeuStar clients can work with IMPS 1.2 or 1.3 compliant servers and also NeuStar MSN™ compliant gateways

Branding Clients consists of loading new resource files for icons, sounds and text to meet individual requirements. NeuStar supports both Internet-IM branding and operator own branding and is able to adopt the operator’s icon set or provide new branded icons from scratch.

NeuStar provides both embedded and downloadable clients to encourage early adoption to both new and existing subscribers. NeuStar’s high-grade Java application can be downloaded to support legacy devices or integrated into handsets prior to shipment. The Java application has been designed as a viable alternative to native applications and can be integrated in terms of a top level menu link from the mobile phone to accessing the address book and running in background mode.

Our Clients support Java and most mobile phones feature a Java platform. Java has evolved quickly, over the last two years, performs well and offers API’s to nearly all aspects of the phone, from the address book to Bluetooth. NeuStar Clients also support Symbian and Microsoft devices .
